A VOID HUNTER WITH NO PAST. A WOMAN WITH AN UNCERTAIN FUTURE. An illusive woman with no ties to Eorzea, the Hingan martial artist known as Hayako arrived to the mainland after Kugane opened their ports to the rest of Hydaelyn. Armed with blades and Ninjutsu, the woman hunts Voidsent and their summoners, and all who would throw the world into disharmony.

Born to the rural farmlands of Hingashi, Hayako was a child of the lowborn heartlands. A peasant by virtue of birth, and surrounded by complacency. Her father raised her alone, her mother having died giving birth, and Hayako vulnerable to his spite and bitterness. It was not long before Hayako would run away from home, becoming an urchin and stealing crops to keep herself from starving. Her father did not look for her.
The girl was taken in by traveling monks from a nearby monastery, when she was found in ill health and in danger of dying from exposure. Unbeknownst to her, the monastery that took her in was no mere convent of holy men. Her newfound family whisked her away to the north, and the entourage vanished without a trace.
She would not be seen again in the heartlands for many years.

Hayako would reemerge many years later, having returned as a capable martial artist. She had come into the possession of an heirloom katana once thought lost; Murasaki Kaze, the Lavender Wind. She would learn what she could of other itinerant Samurai, combining their skills with her upbringing in Ninjutsu - a boon from the supposed 'monks' of the Temple of the Whispering Snow.In time, the growing Garlean presence off of the shores of Hingashi and the ever-present Voidsent threat would be something that she could not choose to ignore. What good would it do for Hingashi to retain their safety, if the world around them burned? It would be a matter of time before the world came to them, whether they liked it or not. When a roving gang of bandits took to summoning Voidsent and using this power to ransack the heartlands of her youth, she took this as an omen of what's to come. Hayako took this ill omen in stride when Kugane became an open port, and traveled West.The rest is history.

Being wholly itinerant outside of Hingashi, Hayako can be found just about anywhere. She accepts mercenary work, but will also work for free if the situation is dire. The void hunter is also a peacekeeper, both at home and abroad.NOTE

Hayako is a social butterfly, quick to strike up conversations with others and learn all about them. Ever the optimist, she chooses the see the very best qualities in others and hopes to pull those aspects of them to the surface. She values meeting others, but strikes a balance between a colorful social life, and some good peace and quiet. While she takes her role in the world seriously, being more than a little philosophical about who she is, she doesn't let things sour the mood when she's able. She loves to talk, and loves to smile.Her lifelong pursuit of martial arts gives her a keen interest in speaking to other fighters in order to trade techniques and wax philosophy.
